                 A brief history of Black Soap, Alata Samina or Anago Samina

Black Soap or African Black Soap also known as Anago Soap or Alata soap, originates from West Africa. It has been used for centuries in Ghana. It's methods and secrets have been passed down from generation to generation to keep the soap close to mother nature and avoid exploitation & imitations. Many have tried to create their version of black soap with all kinds of ingredients. Ghana's Alata soap is the best quality black soap because it is the ORIGINAL.

For centuries, Ghanaians have used Black Soap to help relieve acne, oily skin, clear blemishes and various other skin issues. African Black soap has also been used to achieve beautiful skin. Africans have also used this natural soap for bathing and washing their hair. Great for removing make-up. Black Soap will leave your skin soft, clear and smelling delicious. Alata Samina or Anago Samina is the term used in the local dialect called Twi to refer to Black Soap or African Black Soap. Alata or Anago is a reference to the people of the Northern Region of Ghana, mainly the Hausa tribe. Alata Samina is now used all over Ghana.

Black Soap or African Black Soap comes from plantain skin. It is a natural source of vitamins A & E and iron. (Plantain is a popular food in Africa, South America & other parts of the world. It can be found in ethnic or international grocery stores such as Latino, Caribbean or African. It looks like banana but much bigger. It does not taste like a banana & has to be cooked before eating) The skin of the plantain is gingerly dried to a precise texture under the hot African sun. It is then roasted in a clay oven. The heat must be constant in order to achieve a particular color, texture & smell. In some recipes, Cocoa Pod is used instead of plantain skins. Cocoa Pod is the shell of the Cocoa fruit. The cocoa beans are used for making chocolate or cocoa butter among other things.

The next process is very delicate because if it is not done properly, with the right ingredients, there will be no soap. The roasted plantain skin is mixed with palm oil, palm kernel oil, cocao butter and shea butter to form the soap. The roasting of the plantains determines the color of the soap. The longer the plantains are roasted, the darker the soap. African Black Soap is centuries old, has numerous benefits & is not scented. It can be used by anyone who wishes to improve the quality of their skin. African black soap is rich in naturally occurring vitamins E and A and antioxidants.

3 Day Juice Feast Success!

It way fun and challenging! I'm really happy I did it and I'm Looking forward to doing it again! Woke up feeling good and had amazing energy through out the three days. My Juicer and Food Processor is on it's Way!

Today I am So Excited and Incredibly Grateful! I will be the Proud Owner of a Breville Juicer and Cuisinart Food Processor. I got them off this site http://www.regenerateyourlife.org/ I'm a big fan of Dan "The Life Regenerator" McDonald! Watching his YouTube videos and experiencing the energy he puts out has definitely impacted my life on a most profound way. I am so grateful there are people like him in the world to help me get on the right track! Spiritually, mentally and physically. He is on point with a lot of things and it just resonates with me on a plethora of different levels! I have be working on my eating habits this year and its been hard work 32 year of junk food and bad choices, isolation, depression and stress. My life is not a novel or horror story although at times the lines were definitely blurred lol! So my desire is to go on a juice feast, I will start with 3 day Juice Feast as soon as Get these bad boys home! Then in a weeks time I will do a 7 day, two weeks later i will do a 14 day one and continue on till i can go a whole 92 day Juice Feast! There are some truly beautiful beings in this world that have done these feast before me and are my example on how to do it and how its done. One of my role models in this is Angela Stokes-Monarch and she has a blog where she post her 92 day feast, so it is an excellent source to get information from. So Yeah I'm just So Grateful to have come this far and even though its just the beginning for me I can already see the place where I want to be, and it is exciting! I will be sure to post my Juice Feast here on my blog and pictures possibly. I say that because I am incredibly conscious of my looks and thoug I am trying to except the way I look now and Love me for the way I am now, I don't think I'm ready to show it all to the world yet. I think I will take pictures still and when the changes are manifested I will post the before and afters. I'm So Ready! Blessings to You All Much Love!

Waking Dream

I decided to Meditate this morning and I felt completely relaxed. After about an hour I began to see myself in a familiar place my grandmothers home. I was sitting on her sofa and I looked towards the window and in came a dove and landed on one of her chairs. Also there was my youngest daughter, she became excited to see the dove. I just sat there and knew it was there to give me a message. I looked down to the floor and notice a small peacock nestled by the chair and wondered why it was there. Very beautiful blue bird but all its feathers were enclosed. And it just sat there quietly and out of the way. I thought I better take a picture of the birds because I thought for sure no one would believe they came to visit. I went to the kitchen to get a camera and looked up to see a monarch butterfly fluttering on a cabinet door. I am amazing and wondering why they are here, when I turned around I saw the dove flying across the living room with no head and then its head was flying towards me and landing on my finger. At that moment I asked my nephew who showed up out of nowhere why he cut its head off and he responded; "It had to be done" And soon afterward I opened my eyes and been thinking upon these things since then if anyone has any insight I would love to hear it.

Sleep Contempment

For the last few weeks after coming to this new way of thinking, old habits are starting to break. I use to never be able to sleep wholly through the night and often break night entirely for days on end till I finally crashed. It would be the fear of what if's and worries and spiritual presents that would plague me, dreams of terrible fantasies would play out in my sleep. I am so Grateful now, I been having absolute rest. Sleeping the entire night now waking with the sun, sometimes a little before. I feel so good and am able to accomplish whatever goals I have set for that day. This is this mornings first thought and I am so Happy its a good one. I am so Grateful to be alive and amongst the living today!

My Introduction!

HI, My Name is Sheila also known as Sidonia.. Sid for short. I'm 32 years young! ha and have four vibrant daughters. My eldest is 9, twins 4 y.o. & a 2 y.o. I'm also a small business owner and soap maker. This is my first time ever writing about my life and passions. I have never quite grasp the concept of sharing my life with others and been closed in most my life. Well that stops now. I am on a new path, to share my heart & passions, learning's & experiences and even my creations! Life in a box has been no fun, limiting myself has stricken me, and I feel stifled. My mind and body has suffered and the growth of my children as well. Religious beliefs try to conform me and isolate me from the world as a whole. You know the saying divide and concur.  Well a few months ago I began the search within and the lines began to blur, I have begun to see beauty in all beliefs and differences and am now seeing life quite different. I have begun to see God in me! I am realizing I created this world I'm in and If I want something different, If I am to be different. I must start with me. Its time for me to create a new world in me. I want to share the joys and pains of my new awareness of my being. The ups and downs. The journey to my enlightenment! My physical and spiritual transformation. To be honest with myself and you. Am I ready (laughing nervously at this very question) my mind says no, but my heart, My Heart says Yes do it, its time. Love starts with self. wow this is harder than I thought to write I Love Myself Exactly as I am, in the state I'm in brought a tear to my eye.
